New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo said today his office is investigating 22 online businesses that deceptively link consumers to fee-based membership programs that charge unauthorized fees for discount offers.

Fandango today introduced a free movie app for Google’s Android platform at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

 The Fandango Movies, Times & Tickets app allows users to find movies and showtimes, view trailers, locate theaters, view fan ratings and buy tickets.

Users can find movies playing in their local area by using Android’s GPS feature and connecting to Google Maps for driving directions, or they can browse films under "Opening This Week", "Top Box Office" and "Coming Soon" features.

It’s no secret that today’s mobile phones put early supercomputers to shame, and really, smartphones can almost keep up with today’s laptops in terms of letting people email, search, listen to music, and shop.  So a session at the Shop.org 2009 Annual Summit explored how retailers should embrace the mobile market.
