Now, however, it seems that the mystery girl seen making out with Diddy may have been a Kate Upton look-alike. The model’s representative has told the New York Post that the reports of Upton-Diddy sightings are “laughable.” Upton was, according to her rep, “on vacation with her family” during the times she was reported to be in New York and Miami. Also, the rep added that the pair “don’t know each other at all.

Both Upton and Diddy have also refuted the rumors on their Twitter accounts. Upton calls the stories “not at all true” while Diddy has stated that he doesn’t “even know Kate Upton personally.”

According to a New York Post report, this week’s US Weekly will report that Humphries was wooing Lindsey Vonn last year. This was allegedly during the same period that Tiger Woods was getting more intimate with the blonde skiing star. Vonn announced via a Facebook post earlier this month that she and Woods are now dating.

US’s unnamed source stated that Humphries’ and Vonn’s relationship never got to the physical stage, but that the two are close.

Vonn has been nursing her injuries after a horrific crash at a competition in Austria last month. She had to be airlifted to a nearby hospital, and later had surgery performed on her right knee. She is now chronicling her recovery via her social media feeds:

Probably the most telling piece of data collected in the study is that nearly half (48%) of all women surveyed do some Facebook digging on their date partner before the date begins. Only 38% of men copped to doing pre-date Facebook research and 49% said that the practice was “unacceptable.”

Women are also more likely to be turned off by what they find. 49% said they would cancel a date based solely on information unearthed by their Facebook research. Only 27% of men said that they would cancel.

Both women and men are aware of the need to “clean up” their Facebook profiles in order to put their best online foot forward (26% and 27%, respectively).

Other interesting stats from the study:

• Over half of single men (57%) and 45% of single women have received a sext (sexy photo or explicit text), and 23% of these singles have shared them with others. Of that 23%, a whopping 42% of men and 28% of women said they shared the sext with three or more people
• 42% of single men reported they would not be offended if a recipient shared their sext with others, vs. 13% of women.
• 77% of women would not date someone who was secretive with their texts vs. 53% of men.

LikeBright is the first startup Bing Fund has added since then. Senior Program Manager Aya Zook says LikeBright “has the potential to fill a void experienced by millions – finding a match online.” That’s saying something, especially considering that Bing was part of Facebook’s Graph Search announcement, which many have suggested could be quite ideal for matchmaking.

LikeBright does make use of Facebook to let users “connect privately”.

In Touch Weekly is reporting that Tom Cruise is now dating Cynthia Jorge, a 26-year-old Queens native and restaurant manager. The report comes after sources saw Cruise dancing with Jorge at New York’s Le Baron nightclub on Dec. 18.

Reportedly, Jorge is the one who made the move on Cruise. An insider reported that Cruise visited Jorge’s restaurant for a business meeting, and Jorge gave the movie star her business card before he left. The two met up at the aforementioned nightclub only a day later.

So, is this a little rebound fling or is Cruise taking this newfound relationship seriously? It’s hard to tell at this point, but a witness said the two were “grinding together” at the nightclub. He also called a private car to take her home at the end of the night. If anything, Cruise is at least interested.

A report from People, however, is saying that there was no date, and Jorge just met Cruise for a few drinks. A source close to Jorge said she was just showing Cruise around town while having a casual night out.

As for Cruise, sources close to the actor said the star remains single after his divorce with Katie Holmes. The source also notes that the actor is not dating anybody at the moment.

IAC has completed the acquisition of the ad-supported dating site for an undisclosed sum. DateHookup generated over $500 million in revenue in 2011.

“DateHookup has built a sizable and active community of online singles in the U.S., reaching demographics and markets that complement IAC’s existing online dating companies. We can leverage our expertise and initiatives from our other sites to drive incremental contribution, improving an already attractive acquisition multiple,” said Lance Barton, Vice President of M&A for IAC. “This aligns with our strategy of acquiring companies where we can add real value and create long-term growth.”

Other IAC dating properties include: Match.com, OKCupid, Chemistry, BlackPeopleMeet.com, SeniorPeopleMeet.com,SinglePeopleMeet.com, LoveAndSeek.com, BBPeopleMeet.com, and Singlesnet.com.

If the pair are officially a couple, neither one is offering up anything concrete on the subject at the moment. In a recent interview with Elle magazine, Kunis nimbly avoided answering any revealing questions about her relationship with Kutcher. “I am totally single,” she explained. “Listen, we hang out. We’ve known each other for 15 years. We have mutual friends. We’re comfortable with one another.” Like I said, she’s not revealing anything.

The last time I checked, friends can have lunch together if they want to. And should Kunis feel the urge to sit on Kutcher’s lap and make out with him while waiting for their respective entrees, well, that’s okay, as well. Furthermore, friends can go on motorcycle rides together without having to admit they can’t keep their hands off one another. However, if they don’t want people to speculate about the status of their relationship, keeping this stuff to a bare minimum while in the public eye might help prevent rumors from getting around.

Despite Kunis’ insistence that the two are just friends, this hasn’t stopped folks on Twitter from spilling their two cents all across the micro-blogging website. According to Spotify, the former will match you with a partner based on the artists you’ve listened to most on Spotify, as well as your collection of playlists. The latter lets you drag and drop Spotify playlists into the app to find friends and “potential love interests” with the highest match rate.

“Your taste in music is one of the most common topics of conversation when meeting someone, whether they are a date or just a new friend, and it’s hugely important to have compatible tastes,” says Spotify’s Director of Platform, Sten Garmark. “Harmony on Spotify might just be a great way to find new friends or start a new relationship!”

Tastebuds.fm co-founder Alex Parish says, “Spotify and Tastebuds.fm both believe that music is the most effective way of connecting people.”

According to Parish, 43% of first messages get a reply on Tastebuds. Parish says this is “a much higher response rate than non-music based dating sites.”

“After our successful launch with Spotify in Germany, we are now very happy to welcome all Spotify users on Fellody, where they might get more groupies with their taste in music than Robbie Williams during the 90’s,” adds Fellody fco-founder Robin Simon. “With Spotify you have the world’s music at your fingertips and Fellody gives you instant access to a worldwide community of music lovers.”

“Actually, since we launched, our international user base is growing very fast – music lovers from more than 70 different countries talk, discuss and flirt on Fellody already,” says Simon.

While the Spotify app platform is still very young, it’s already been very interesting to see the kinds of things being built upon it. Between its own apps and its expanding presence on Facebook, and now the iPad, Spotify is building up some serious momentum in the online music space.

Both new apps are available within the Spotify App Finder.

The most surprising statistics, to me, came from a survey of World of Warcraft players. Only 14.9% of WOW players are single, compared to 43% of Americans over the age of 18. Also, over 75% of WOW players who are dating each other traveled over 100 miles to meet.

Though it could simply be that gamers are younger and outnumber those on dating websites, my sense is that coming together and working hard to accomplish a common goal is what brings people close enough for sparks to fly.
