It has been confirmed and announced that there are 6 different versions of Creative Suite 3. The versions are the CS3 Design Standard, CS3 Design Premium, CS3 Web Standard, CS3 Web Premium, CS3 Production Premium, CS3 Master Collection.

The Master Collection comes with everything but the price tag matches that, it is a whopping $3000. For myself I think that Web Premium or maybe even standard will be more then enough for me.

There are a lot of the programs that I won’t need necessarily in some of the other packages.

The software of course comes with all of the popular programs and a few more.

One of the features that is being talked about the most is the ability to export out of programs like InDesign or Illustrator into XHTML for use with Dreamweaver.

This major innovation takes a giant leap towards seamlessly allowing designers to better develop web sites. Previously that feature had only been with Photoshop through slices. Hopefully we will get a chance to test this innovative idea out soon.

Dreamweaver is also going to have an online community forum called CSS advisor that will be constantly updated and give helpful hints to developers from experts.

All a big effort from Adobe to match up with Microsoft’s Expression Web Designer which enforces standards very heavily. I’m assuming and hoping that once we get our hands on Dreamweaver CS3 that it is web standards compliant and it breaks away from some of its legacy scripting.

Adobe has decided to drop GoLive and Audition from the Creative Suite packages and develop the products as stand alone items.

Throughout the packages the bulk of what is in them are Adobe InDesign, Photoshop Extended, Illustrator, Acrobat 8 Professional, Flash Professional, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Contribute, After Effects Professional, Premiere Pro, Encore, and Soundbooth. Which have all been upgraded and made to run on Windows Vista and Intel Macs.

So all of you Apple fans with the Intel Macs can now use the Creative Suite and all of the Windows Vista people can of course do the same. At least when July 1st comes around.

I will provide a detailed update about the event shortly after it happens for those that want a good summary. Until then we can only speculate on what software pieces will be included in Adobe Creative Suite 3. Although Adobe is having the event on March 27th, CS3 will not be available until later this spring. Hopefully they will be announcing the exact date during the event also.

Adobe Creative Suite 2.3 Premium also bundles Dreamweaver 8. The company says Future versions of Adobe Creative Suite will integrate Dreamweaver as a replacement for Adobe GoLive., but Adobe will continue to develop GoLive as a standalone product.

“Acrobat 8 Professional enables printers to achieve better quality while automating workflows and controlling costs, and together with the recently released Adobe PDF Print Engine delivers the first end-to-end native PDF workflow,” said Mark Hilton, vice president of product management.

“In addition, we decided it was the right time to deliver Dreamweaver with Creative Suite 2.3, so customers can make the transition to the industry’s leading Web design and development tool.”

Added to industry-standard PDF/X-1a and PDF/X-3 files, Acrobat 8 Pro outputs PDF/X-4 for native transparency support, and PDF/A for long-term archiving.Adobe Reader 8 enables shared reviews, email- and Web-based reviews, digital signatures, and form completion.

The software also introduces the Start Meeting feature with built-in access to Adobe Acrobat Connect (formerly Breeze), a Web-hosted subscription service that supports real-time online collaboration for employees and clients spread out geographically. At launch, though, the software will only be available in the U.S.

Adobe says that with Creative Suite 2.3, printers can automatically fix problems identified during pre-flight review in PDF, including hairlines, color space, transparency flattening, font embedding, and image resolution. Support for automated JDF workflows enables printers to automatically output and validate PDF files from Adobe InDesign CS2 software.

Adobe expects to ship Adobe Creative Suite 2.3 plus Dreamweaver 8 for Microsoft Windows and Macintosh in English, French, German, and Japanese in the fourth quarter 2006.

Estimated street prices will be US$1199 for the full version of Adobe Creative Suite 2.3 Premium, US$159 for an upgrade from Adobe Creative Suite 2 Premium, and US$549 for an upgrade from Creative Suite 1.x Premium and Standard.

Apple Insider covers an analyst’s annotation of discussion at the Photoshop World conference revealing that Photoshop CS3 would launch next three. According to a keynote delivered by an Adobe SVP. In a note to clients, the analyst said that Adobe had “successfully moved this core application to the Intel-Mac platform.”
