Twitter Expands Into More Than Just 2 Languages

Update: Twitter is now supporting the Spanish language. Original Article: Twitter announced that it intends to roll out the service in the French, Italian, German, and Spanish languages. Currently it's only available in English and Japanese. Expanding into more languages should have a profound impact on Twitter's growth in new users. The company doesn't plan to stop there either though. Co-founder Biz Stone says that's just a starting point.

Twitter To Become Location Aware

According to a post on the Twitter blog there is some new activity around location capabilities of the service. At this point, the location information offered within the Twitter tool itself and the data that is supplied through an API, is spotty at best. Anytime you leave the data generation duties to the end user you have to expect that there may be some ‘inconsistencies’ and just plain bad data.

Biz Stone Talks Commercial Accounts, Acquisitions

Commercial accounts are still on the way at Twitter.  Although, in a recent interview, cofounder Biz Stone declined to share specific launch dates (think "this year"), he did at least reconfirm this fact and hint at a few details and other moves.

Twitter Finally Giving Users Retweet Feature

Twitter announced that it intends to add a retweet option to its service as well as the API. Retweeting has basically become a huge part of the Twitter culture, but it is not a function that is readily available on Twitter itself. Users have to actually take the time and to enter the information themselves. Co-founder Biz Stone acknowledges that this can be "cumbersome". Twitter is calling the initiative "project retweet."
