This weekend at the Billboard Music Awards, Bieber was awarded the first ever Milestone Award. The award, which was sponsored by car manufacturer Chevrolet, was meant to go to an artist who had demonstrated “musical ingenuity and innovation” over the past year. Bieber was nominated for the award along with Taylor Swift and Bruno Mars.

When Bieber took the stage to accept the award, the crowd reaction was mixed, with a large contingent of boos that could easily be heard. The pop singer seemed to react to the jeers, rambling on in his acceptance speech about how he should “be taken seriously.”

“And basically, from my heart I really just want to say it should really be about the music,” said Bieber. “It should be about the craft, the craft that I’m making. This is not a gimmick, I’m not – this is not a gimmick. I’m an artist and I should be taken seriously and this, all this other bull should not be spoken of.”

The IADAS is made up of over a thousand member judging body that features high-profile public figures like Arianna Huffington, Vint Cerf, David Bowie, Biz Stone (Twitter), and Kevin Systrom (Instagram). Last year’s Webby Awards generated more than 1.2 billion media impressions.

The ceremony will take place at Cipriani Wall Street on Tuesday, May 21st and will be available to watch on-demand the next day on the Webby Awards’ official site.

“Patton can out-nerd the nerdiest of nerdy nerds, and out-funny just about anyone,” said David-Michel Davies, Executive Director of The Webby Awards. “He’s the perfect Webby host.”

The Webby Award is handed out in various categories, including websites, advertising, online video, apps, and this year will introduce new categories based on “the social web.”

This year, Nike leads the pack with 17 nominations, followed by Google, The New York Times, and HBO with 12 each and NPR with 10. Music site Pitchfork and comedy site Funny or Die also lead the field with 8 and 7 nominations, respectively.

Patton Oswalt made headlines earlier this week when his Facebook and Twitter posts regarding the Boston Marathon attacks went viral.

Lambert, who is famously married to ACM Awards co-host Blake Shelton, won awards for both writing and performing the song “Over You.” The song also won the Single of the Year Award. Lambert also won the award for Female Vocalist of the Year, an award she has won for four years running. Reba McEntire and Loretta Lynn are the only other artists to have won the Female Vocalist of the Year award four or more times.

Lambert was also nominated for Entertainer of the Year, the award that Bryan won.

“I can’t comprehend anything that’s happening right now,” said Lambert shortly after the awards ceremony. “I actually voted for, I was rooting for Carrie [Underwood], because I’m such a fan of hers and I’m so jealous of her voice and her legs and everything else she has.”

Well, there are some pretty solid choices here – especially that Best TV Marathon category. If you started from the top and streamed Breaking Bad, followed by Battlestar Galactica and House of Cards, you’d have yourself a very entertaining two weeks or so, depending on your real-life obligations.

The company has just launched The Flixies, just two days after the Academy Awards, and they want you to vote on which program available on Netflix Instant is the best in categories like “Best Guilty Pleasure” and “Best Hangover Cure.”

Each category contains 12 pre-selected titles to choose from. For instance, the “Best Bromance” category features titles like Commando, Act of Valor, Warrior, Snatch, and Top Gear. The “Best Hanover Cure” category let’s you vote on titles like Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, How I Met Your Mother, Archer, and Arrested Development.

The full list of categories are: Best Tantrum Tamer, Best Commute Shortener, Best Guilty Pleasure, Best TV Marathon, Best PMS Drama, Best Bromance and Best Hangover Cure. Clearly not your traditional award categories.

You can cast your vote today, and everything ends on March 10th. Anyone can vote for The Flixies – both Netflix members and non-members (as long as they reside in countries where Netflix is available). While you’re voting, you can also suggest new Flixie categories that accurately represent the different ways that you’re streaming content on Netflix.

On the site, you can find movie and celebrity “knowledge graphs” to learn more about the nominees and films. There’s also a section called “Mapping the Movies,” which lets you look at where the nominated films take place, and the birthplaces of the nominees, using Google Maps:

Starting on Friday, Google says it is giving users “VIP access to the Dolby Theatre on Google Map.”. If you search for “Dolby Theatre” in Google Maps on your browser or smartphone, Google says you’ll be able to “experience the theater as if you were there with the stars.”

I guess we’ll see about that.

She’ll probably be able to continue to sleep at night, as the song earned her two nominations: Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.

As of the time of this writing, Call Me Maybe has over 402 million YouTube views. It has about a million and a half likes. And that doesn’t even begin to count all of the parodies and covers that have saturated the the biggest video site on the Internet.

Song of the Year winner “We Are Young” only has over 167 million YouTube views (about 800,000 likes).

According to Twitter, the highest spike in tweets-per-minute during the awards occurred when Lawrence won her Globe. That spike hit 19,886 TPM.

“Harvey [Weinstein], thank you for killing whoever you had to kill to get me up here today,” said Lawrence during her acceptance speech.

Coming in a close second (19,695 TPM) for most-buzzed about moment was Anne Hathaway, as she was accepting her award for Best Supporting Actress (Comedy/Musical) for her role in Les Miserables.

And in third was former President Bill Clinton, who received a standing ovation as he appeared on stage to introduce Steven Spielberg’s epic Lincoln for consideration. That generated 18,290 TPM.

In all, Twitter reports 4.2 million total Golden Globes-related tweets in the past 24 hours, and 3.6 when you just count the red carpet and the actual show.

We’re pretty sure Tommy Lee Jones was unimpressed with all of it.

Quvenzhané Wallis also thinks that being adorable lets you get away with BRINGING YOUR DAMN IPHONE ON STAGE WITH YOU TO ACCEPT A MAJOR AWARD, which is exactly what she did last night at the 18th annual Critics’ Choice awards.

After being announced the winner for best actress for her role as Hushpuppy in the also-Oscar-nominated film Beasts of the Southern Wild, Quvenzhané lugged her pink-cased smartphone onto the stage with her. At first, I thought it must be serving as some sort of security blanket – the poor girl was nervous, obviously. We know that these damn kids nowadays can’t survive without their devices, so I figured that’s what was happening.

But no. What Quvenzhané Wallis was doing was killing the crumpled up speech in pocket routine forever and ushering us into the age of digital acceptance speeches. Good on you, Quvenzhané.

It was a short, but cute speech.

“First, I would like to thank God for all my blessings. I would also like to thank the film critics for this award. Thanks to Mr. Benh Zeitlin and the Court 13 family for thinking I could make a good Hushpuppy. Lastly, to my family, friends and fans. Good night!”

We’ll have to wait until February to see if she wins and decides to tote her smartphone on stage at the Oscars. She’s facing some tough competition, however.
