Mark Ruffalo signed on to star as Bruce Banner in last year’s blockbuster The Avengers, and it seems that the actor might be in for the long haul. Unfortunately, that may not mean that Ruffalo will star as the Hulk in an individual movie franchise.

Yesterday Ruffalo revealed through his Twitter feed that there are no current plans for a new Hulk movie, and that the next time he will appear as the character will be in the sequel to The Avengers.

Just to be totally clear. I did not say there was not going to ever be a stand alone Hulk film. I said there wasn’t one in the works now.

Ruffalo’s tweets back up a comment made by Avengers director Joss Whedon in a recent interview with IGN. Whedon shot down rumors that the next Avengers movie would focus on the Hulk.

Heroic Play launched with 15 games with characters from The Avengers and the larger Marvel universe. The company timed the launch to coincide with the DVD release of the hit film. That hit stores on Tuesday.

“We worked closely with Marvel to create a one-stop gaming destination for fans looking for fast and free access to their much-loved Marvel superheroes,” said Mike Primiani, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Mindspark Consumer Products. “With the website and toolbar platform, users are able to connect to the Marvel gaming experience however they choose.”

“Mindspark has been a terrific partner in helping us bring the gaming experience of The Avengers and many other Marvel characters to a wider audience,” said Andreea Enache-Thune, Senior Vice President, Marvel Games and Digital Distribution. “They have created an outlet for fans of all ages to interact with and connect to some of our most unforgettable games.”

The site also includes a feed of Twitter messages, aggregated using Marvel-related keywords. There’s also a Heroic Play Toolbar, which includes links to games and a gameplay widget that lets you play from the toolbar itself.

Artists often post here to allow viewership of their recent works in hopes of picking up a gig, or just to show off. So my housemate gave me the idea of painting the avengers with a high/dark/ epic fantasy setting and who better to start with than loki.

took a less ‘sexed-up’ approach so hopefully it works out

Descriptions are from the artist’s page here. He wrote that this will hopefully be a large collection, featuring more Avengers and possibly some other super heros thrown in there. Let’s hope so, because these are fantastic.

This isn’t an Avengers work, but I included it here just to show off as an interesting concept. This barbarian woman takes the concept of Portal and places it in a fantasy world. I suppose the protagonist would slice at the wall to open a portal, and it would peel back like slicing through flesh. A fun concept to think about for fans of Portal.

And finally, I just liked the style of this one. The lightning effects are very cool, and I like how it sort of distorts the image behind it. The artists uses broad and sometimes crude brushstrokes to create the strange pattern and give this work a sense of tension, like this guy is going to destroy everything in his path without breaking sweat.

Coming in a second was third week offering “Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted” which made $20.2 million to bring it’s total to an impressive $157.5 million. 3rd place featured the slightly disappointing “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.” The (awesome idea for a vampire movie) movie brought in a disappointing $16.5 million in its first week. The alien prequel titled “Prometheus” comes in at 4th. The sci-fi movie featuring Charlize Theron pulled in $10 million in its 3rd week to bring its total to $108.5 million. Rounding out the top 5 is Tom Cruise’s Rock Opera titled “Rock of Ages.” The movie made $8 million bringing its total to $28.7 million which probably doesn’t even cover Cruise’s payday for making the movie.

Polyvore is continuing this tradition now, and has released a bunch of outfits that are styled after the Avengers. From the Hulk to Iron Man you can get a real sense of ho exactly they are styled after. The items in the outfits are all for sale individually and vary in price. The Captain America outfit for examples features a $13 top from Target and a $190 pair of shoes from John Lewis.

But wait, you say. What about those Iron Patriot images we saw, including the one that this article is leading with? What gives? According to the Latino Review, an incredibly-thorough movie blog, while the armor may indeed look like the comic book version of Iron Patriot, the insider LR spoke to indicates the armor we all saw is, in fact, Don Cheadle’s new armor for Iron Man 3.

In case you forgot, Cheadle plays Colonel Rhodes, and he also dons the War Machine armor, as seen here:

The US Government has had their hands on this Stark suit for awhile, and apparently they’ve decided to make it more patriotic (especially with the nano-technology stuff I hear is going down in China these days, it’s important for America to look good, not like ‘Iron Man 2′s’ bulky grey War Machine). That’s why the set photo of “Iron Patriot” has the War Machine gun on his back, because it’s NOT Iron Patriot, it’s NOT James Badge Dale, it’s NOT Coldblood-7.

If you’re still reading but don’t know what to make of it, try this: if LR’s insider is accurate, the character wearing the Iron Patriot armor will not be an enemy of Tony Stark/Iron Man. I guess War Machine is too drastic of a name for someone the US Government is trying to portray as a hero, at least in the movies.

“Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth” will focus on such characters as Captain America, Iron Man, Thor and the Hulk fending off an invasion of the Skrull. The title will feature more than 20 characters from the Marvel universe and would be based on the “Secret Invasion” comic series, just like The Avengers: Earths Mightiest Heroes is doing right now on DisneyXD.

“The idea that we’re making a motion-control version of ‘The Avengers’ is a unique proposition if you compare that to superhero games of the past,” said Tony Key, Ubisoft’s vice president of sales and marketing in a statement to the AP. “For us, that obviously raises the brand itself to an even higher level, and that’s good for our video game because we have an opportunity to reach a broader audience than just the guys who love comic book characters.”

This is a super new announcement of just the partnership so there is no footage of the game or even screen shots. I would expect even a rough build to show its head at E3 but don’t hold your breath. The announcement for the game also did not include a release date.
