I remember playing with a certain word-processing feature when I was much younger; it would (try to) read aloud whatever I’d written. And a lot of other software has been designed to do the same thing. Alltel’s taking the reverse approach, though, with a new feature that’ll convert voicemails into text messages.
Alltel Wireless will be the first in the US to combine podcasting and mobile phones, after inking a deal with podcast community Melodeo, Inc. Called Axcess Mobilcast service, subscribers will be able search and listen to podcasts on their mobiles for about $4 a month.
