Suzanne Somers Talks Sex, Proves Miley Cyrus Wrong

By: Meaghan Ellis - October 9, 2013

Lets talk about sex! Earlier this week, Miley Cyrus made headlines for her unfettered comment toward in regards to sex ‘ending after 40.’

During her chat with host, Matt Lauer, Cyrus stated that, “I heard when you turn 40, things start to go a little less sexual. Probably around that time, I heard that’s when people don’t have sex anymore.”

The comment received relatively mixed reviews as some felt mildly offended by her synopsis.

However, actress Suzanne Somers begged to differ, as she offered a totally different perspective, from personal experience. Somers’ sentiments were the exact opposite.

On Tuesday, the 66-year-old actress stopped by CBS hit show, “The Talk.” During their discussion, the ladies brought up the topic of sex. Somers was asked how often she and her husband have sex. She shamelessly spoke openly with the ladies about her intimate life behind closed doors with her husband of 46 years, Alan Hamel. Surprisingly, she had a very enlightening perspective that left everyone in hysterics.

“We have sex a couple times a day. He’s on hormones and I’m on hormones,” said Somers of her 77-year-old husband. The audience roared with laughter and, she quickly added: “I’m going to be so sorry I said that. What is it about men at four in the morning? And then I’m really awake around eight or so. We have busy mornings.” Somers also stated that her sex life has never been better.

While the news came as an absolute shock for everyone in the room, this actually isn’t the first time Somers has spoke publicly about her sex life. Last month when Somers spoke with Katie Couric, the topic of sex emerged then as well. The “I’m Too Young for This” author also weighed in on the healthy state of her sex life. “A healthy person is a sexual person. “You know, it’s all biology. Well first of all … I desire him, to begin with.”

According to the LA Times, Somers accredits her healthy, active lifestyle to approximately ’60 supplements, creams, and a daily injection of human growth hormone.’ She claims that the daily routine keeps her feeling young and rejuvenated.

  • People Get Old Because

People act old because they think they are expected to. I have seen 15 year olds that act like they are 60 and 60 year olds who act 15. The reality is that age is a state of mind. After all, we all grew up with the words …. act your age.

America is such a repressed country and that is why you see all these people acting out. Go anywhere and you will see this. When you ask an American if they are freaky in bed, they will say no and act like they are saints. But go behind closed doors, to clubs, raves, dance parties, etc ….. you will see that people are very sexual. Heck, go to your local PTA meeting and you will see this paradigm. Everyone is a saint and never doing anything wrong. Many people put on false fronts. Such hypocrisy.

Anything you make taboo will flourish and we have made sex taboo in this nation. Go to Europe or to Latin America and you will see women nude on the beach all the time. It is no big deal. If that happened in America, you would swear the Anti-Christ made his first appearance on the earth.

America has the most on healthy attitude towards sex. We will go to war at the drop of a hat and use drones to bomb innocent people around the world, but there will not be any real outrage. Miley Cyrus acts sexual at the VMA awards and the country goes crazy. It doesn’t make any sense.

America, find someone you really care for and love. Commit to that person. Have sex and show affection. Stay young in body and heart. No one ever died saying the words “I loved too much”.
