  • Suzanne Somers got the boot from season 20 of Dancing With the Stars this week following a mishap with her dress on Disney Night. The former Three’s Company star, who honored the late John Ritter in a poignant tribute dance last week, caught her heel in the hem of her dress. That helped spell catastrophe for the 68-year-old and her pro partner Tony Dovolani.

Somers and Dovolani spoke with Fox News following the elimination.

“That was a bummer. That was just one of those things that never entered my mind, never, ever that there would be an issue with the heel getting caught in the hem of my dress. And I couldn’t extricate it,” she explained.

“She looked at me and I was like, ‘Just keep going! I got you!’” Tony said.

“He said, ‘Move!’” and then Suzanne Somers pantomimed for Fox her attempt at recovery.

Sadly. last week’s tribute to John Ritter only earned Suzanne Somers 28 points, as did this week’s ‘Disney Night’ dress debacle.

It was plain to see Somers was getting discouraged prior to her elimination. When rehearsal footage aired on Monday night, she was seen lamenting to Dovolani.

“I don’t think I can stay on the show … I’m too lousy at it. I hate it,” she said.

Perhaps it was a blessing in disguise that Suzanne Somers caught her heel in the hem of her dress and was sent home this week? Maybe she had given it her best shot and was willing to take her curtain call.

She clearly has no regrets about competing on DWTS, however.

“I learned that it’s good to put yourself out of your comfort zone. You learn a lot about yourself, you learn about how strong you are and how strong you are NOT and it’s a very humbling experience and I’m so glad I did it,” she said.

Did you see Suzanne Somers and tony Dovolani perform this week on Dancing With the Stars? Are you surprised she was eliminated?
