Sun Microsystems will resell Interwoven’s enterprise content management platform with the Java Enterprise System.

Interwoven announced the agreement today, which adds its ECM solutions to Sun’s hardware and software offerings.

“By bringing together Sun’s secure and reliable infrastructure and Interwoven’s high performance ECM solutions, these market leading companies will provide enterprises with end-to-end management of content,” the company noted in a statement.

The two firms see adoption of Java Enterprise Edition as well as the implementation of Service-Oriented Architecture as a positive benefit for businesses choosing the Interwoven solution and Sun’s hardware and software platforms.

Their shared solution will allow for ECM, secure identity management, and storage and archiving of data, using their software along with Sun Fire servers and StorEdge products.

Sunnyvale-based Interwoven lists GM, Ford, and Motorola among its clients.
