Steve Jobs Resignation Will Feature In Upcoming Biography
Steve Jobs’ sudden resignation as CEO of Apple last night has left the tech community wondering about the future of the company as well as the health of Jobs himself. Last night, in a statement, Jobs said that the day has come when he can no longer meet his duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO.
If you want to learn the real inside scoop about his resignation, you will apparently be able to find it in the highly-anticipated upcoming biography.
When Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson drops on November 21st, you can expect to read about the announcement from Jobs’ point of view.
According to PCMag, a Simon & Schuster spokeswoman said that Isaacson “still speaks to Jobs regularly and is still working on the final chapter of the book.”
Just recently, the new official front and back cover images for the book were announced (you can see those above, in the top image). The bio also received a new name at that time, the simple Steve Jobs. The book was originally had the unfortunately punny working title of iSteve: The Book of Jobs.
The bio is still set for November 21st, which is sooner than the previous launch date of March 6th, 2012. It is available for pre-order on Amazon for $19.50.
Based on more than forty interviews with Jobs conducted over two years—as well as interviews with more than a hundred family members, friends, adversaries, competitors, and colleagues—
Although Jobs cooperated with this book, he asked for no control over what was written nor even the right to read it before it was published. He put nothing off-limits. He encouraged the people he knew to speak honestly. And Jobs speaks candidly, sometimes brutally so, about the people he worked with and competed against. His friends, foes, and colleagues provide an unvarnished view of the passions, perfectionism, obsessions, artistry, devilry, and compulsion for control that shaped his approach to business and the innovative products that resulted.
So along with all of that candid information, you can expect his resignation and, presumably, his battles with health problems to be discussed in the book.
