Solange Knowles may not be as famous as her sister Beyoncé, but she’s a successful singer/songwriter in her own right. That success ensures that she stays pretty busy – busy enough to miss an important wedding.

It’s being reported today that Beyoncé and Solange were both missing at their father’s wedding on June 30. Some might speculate that their absence is a result of bad blood left over from their fathers divorce to their mother – Tina Knowles. Matthew Knowles told TMZ, however, that his daughters were simply too busy:

“Unfortunately, Beyonce and Solange had previous engagements which made it impossible for them to attend.”

And before you start thinking that Matthew is just covering for his daughters, his story does check out. Beyoncé in particular has been busy this year with The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour. She also has a toddler at home to take care of. There are also rumors that she’s pregnant with a second child, but Jay-Z says those rumors are unfounded.

As for Solange, she released a new EP called True earlier this year. She also announced in May that she has started her own label. The label – Saint Records – will be used to launch her new full length album later this year.

Back to the wedding, Matthew Knowles married his fiancé Gena Avery, a model turned real-estate agent. The two had been dating for about a year and a half. His ex-wife, who divorced him after his affair with Alexsandra Wright became public, has yet to remarry.

It is really a diseased state of mine when you must include race into every topic. People like need to be euthanized.

They probably figure their dad is an A$$ for what he’s done. Don’t blame them for not wanting to be part of it.

Big whoop,so they didn’t attend. I didnt go to my mothers wedding when she married the schmuck she cheated on my father with. Its just another day in the life.

  • LovURLif

Although I fully understand those girls are siding with their mother, understandably so, but that’s still your father. And none of them including their mother, would be no place w/out him.

Whoop-dee-do!!! It’s their father, there may still be hurt feelings from his betrayals of their mother. We don’t know the inner workings of their family. I wouldn’t turn my life upside down to just so I could paste a fake smile and act normal for a few hours in MY HOMETOWN.

They did what they felt was right for them. Get over it.
