  • Are you sick of loading up the menu every time you want to save or load a game? Tired of clicking buttons to switch between weapons, slowing down your progression in immeasurable ways? Are you frustrated that yelling your favorite shouts at the TV has little to no effect on gameplay?

Well, you’re in luck. Skyrim for Xbox 360 is about to get Kinect support.

In addition to Dragon Shouts, the Kinect for Xbox 360 integration offers voice commands throughout the game including Hotkey Equipping, Follower Commands, and all Menus (Items, Magic, Map, Barter, Container, Favorites, and Skills). With Voice Commands, quickly create and load saves during gameplay and access menus and inventories. Skyrim’s Kinect for Xbox 360 Support also adds new functionality including special map functions, additional hotkey options, and the ability to sort inventory items by name, weight, and value.

Google+Reader”>According to the Bethesda blog, all 360 users will be receiving this as a free upgrade some time this month. All in all, over 200 voice commands will be included

Check out this video on some of the upcoming Kinect features:

They’ll be releasing a full list of all of the various commands in the next few weeks. In the meantime, players should practice up on their shouts, considering their apartment walls aren’t too thin. Hopefully, we won’t hear any stories in the future about overenthusiastic Skyim players “FUS RO DAH”‘ing themselves into a noise violation.

Some early feedback (from Youtube) suggests that some players would like this functionality without the Kinect – perhaps speaking directly into a microphone. Others aren’t really understanding the negative feedback:

I love how Bethesda is giving this away for free, continuing to patch the game (far past what they’ve ever done before, too) and regularly adding features to Skyrim… and people are still complaining. I didn’t realize the subculture I most identified with (Gamers) were such f*cking tools.

Oh well. What do you think? Are you excited about this update. We your pleased with the kill cam-bringing 1.5 update? Let us know in the comments.
