Tom Foremski, he of SiliconValleyWatcher, has teamed with Elizabeth Safran to launch a new project called Silicon Valley Minute.

The project is geared to startups and is being billed as a ‘quick pitch video website.’ (A quick aside. I’ve not actually visited the SVW site for some time, as I simply read new posts with Google Reader, but it appears as though SVW has received a bit of a makeover and may still be working some of the kinks out–access to the actual site has been spotty this afternoon).

Here’s how it works. If you’re a start-up looking for work on message development (and a bit of online buzz), you simply create a less-than one minute video that answers the following two questions: who are you? what do you do? After that, upload the video to YouTube and send Foremski the link, along with your company name and background. Interesting concept, huh? Sounds vaguely similar to what Bambi Francisco was doing on her blog for startups that wanted to be covered.

The first ten videos are already up on the site–they’re focused primarily on the security software industry and were done at RSA.
