  • ABC’s The View is in for some major changes.

Nearly a month after Barbara Walters revealed that she would be retiring, Sherri Shepherd has announced that she will be leaving as well, and Jenny McCarthy said if Sherri goes, she goes too.

According to PEOPLE, Sherri’s reps and the television network could not come to terms on an agreement for a new contract. In a statement to Deadline, Shepherd said that it is simply time for her to move on and is grateful for her The View family supporting her.

“It’s been seven wonderful years on The View and after careful consideration it is time for me to move on. I am extremely grateful to Barbara Walters and Bill Gedde for giving me the opportunity,” Shepherd said. “I look forward to the business opportunities that lay ahead for me and I am incredibly grateful to my View family and my fans for supporting me on this journey.”

Shortly after Sherri’s announcement, Jenny McCarthy revealed that she would also be leaving the show after only one year. “If Sherri goes… I go too. #sisters,” McCarthy tweeted on Thursday, June 26. She later added, “My View will be changing too. As will with many hard working folks. Thanks to everyone at the show for your dedication and an amazing year.”

While Jenny seems to make it sound like she is choosing not to return, a source told Fox411 that ABC wouldn’t renew her contract. “Jenny just didn’t appeal to the daytime audience market. They couldn’t relate to her,” the source said. “There are a lot of changes taking place now that Barbara [Walters] has left.”
