  • The gods have bestowed upon us a great gift for our Friday – a new teaser trailer for Sharknado 2: The Second One.

The original Sharknado will be forever remembered as the B movie that conquered Twitter, due to the overwhelming social media response it received shortly after premiering on the SyFy network. The response was so huge, that SyFy quickly ramped up production on a sequel, and soon after that announced that a threequel was also on the way.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Sharknado 2: The Second One doesn’t hit the airwaves until July 30th, and the first teaser trailer has just hit the internet.

It’s short, but in it you’ll find astonished city-dwellers, terrified subway-riders, Tara Reid, sharks, chainsaws, flooded city streets, freaky weather patterns, the line “It’s happening again,” and of course, a brief sharknado.

Sharknado alums Tara Reid and Ian Ziering are back, and the sequel will feature newcomers Vivica A. Fox, Mark McGrath, Andy Dick, Kelly Osbourne, Judah Friedlander, and Judd Hirsh.

If you are on the fence about watching Sharknado 2: The Second One, just read what Ian Ziering told the LA Times:

“That’s a story point, where do you find a chainsaw in Manhattan? But I got one and it’s the biggest chainsaw I’ve ever seen. It’s a four-foot chainsaw, the kind of thing you’d use to cut down redwood trees. It must have weighed 35 pounds.”

Goddamnit, I’m sold. How bout you?
