After getting a lot of negative feedback on her breakup with on-and-off boyfriend, Justin Bieber and getting picked on by netizens for gaining a little weight, Selena Gomez has finally spoken up.
Selena said that she was heartbroken and that she was “pissed” about the split and all of the controversy that surrounded her at the time.

Right now, though, she says she’s already in a better place and has moved on.
“At this point, there is no anger," she said. "There's closure in a very good, healthy way. We’ve seen each other. I'm always encouraging and I am proud of his journey.”
"I think people are making it out to be something that is more tragic than it really was. We grew up together. We both made mistakes. That's it,” Selena added.
Aside from the criticism she received following the breakup, Selena also faced a lot of harsh comments about her body when a photo of her wearing a Mint Swim pink bikini in Mexico made the rounds online.
“It was appalling. I had never experienced that before. I was sad. I was angry. I feel all of it,” Selena admitted to women’s lifestyle site Refinery29.
"I think people really wanted to see me fail. I'd sit down in an interview and get the most harshly asked questions. There, everybody has it. I was so disappointed, because I never wanted my career to be a tabloid story,” Selena said.
Selena definitely seems a lot stronger and more confident now. With her new album Revival topping the pop music charts, TV appearances, and magazine features, all the lessons she’s learned from her previous challenges are proving to benefit her greatly.

“I don't want to become little or hurt or a victim. I want to be strong for girls. I just want them to know that there is an option of standing up for yourself,” Selena said.
