  • Most of Scarlett Johansson’s adult life has been documented and scrutinized in the public eye. However, there is one thing that she likes to keep private … her personal life.

So, it was quite a shock when Scarlett recently decided to open up about her failed marriage to her ex-husband Ryan Reynolds.

Johansson and Reynolds married in 2008 and then divorced after only two years in 2010. During an interview with C Magazine, Johansson revealed that her divorce was one of the loneliest times of her life. [The divorce] was a very lonely thing. It’s like the loneliest thing you’ll ever do, in some ways,” she explained. “I’ve had a fair amount of time to process the experience and go forward. I continue to get to know myself better as I get older, and that helps me in my relationships.”

The divorce took quite a toll on Scarlett, but she has since moved on and is expecting a baby with her fiancé Romain Dauriac, a French journalist. During an interview with Vanity Fair, Scarlet discussed her blossoming romance with Dauriac and said it is much easier to be with someone outside of the acting world.

“We do different things,” she explained. “He’s in the whole art-scene world. So it’s nice, because we can enjoy each other’s worlds, but we don’t have our crazy conflicting schedules and all that other stuff to contend with. And, you know, of course, actors, in general, they’re obsessed with emotions. Although, he’s French, so he’s also probably overly into his emotions.” Although they only dated for nine months before getting engaged, the couple felt the timing was right and called their pregnancy a “welcomed surprise”.

Ryan has also moved on, and recently married Gossip Girls star Blake Lively.
