Samantha Bee Lauded by Jon Stewart in Lengthy Goodbye

  • Samantha Bee has been a correspondent on Jon Stewart’s Daily Show for 12 years, and Stewart knew that her years on the show–and the countless laughs induced by her presence–most definitely warranted a very noteworthy goodbye.

Jon Stewart said that poignant goodbye on Wednesday night. He lauded Samantha Bee with a montage of clips from her 12 years on The Daily Show.

Some of Samantha Bee’s best moments over the years included her interviews at the 2004 Republican National Convention and her coverage of Sarah Palin. Both, of course, were included in the montage.

Jon Stewart brought Samantha Bee out onto the Daily Show stage following the tribute, for a proper goodbye.

So what’s next for Samantha Bee? She’s headed off to work on a new show somewhat reminiscent of Jon Stewart’s, where she will both executive produce and serve as host. In addition, she’s working on a new scripted series with her husband, another former correspondent on The Daily Show–Jason Jones.

Samantha Bee served longer than any other correspondent on The Daily Show. She no doubt has what it takes, however, to make it on her very own show.

Fans will no doubt stay tuned to TBS–where both her hosted show and the scripted series–are set to air in the near future.
