  • Rosie O’Donnell helped save the life of her estranged wife, Michelle Rounds, on Tuesday.

Sources close to the situation told TMZ that Rounds overdosed on pills after threatening to take her own life. Rosie O’Donnell somehow learned what was happening and reached Michelle Rounds on the phone.

While talking with Rounds, O’Donnell got someone else to call 911, and she remained on the phone with her until help arrived.

Another source says Michelle Rounds would be dead if not for Rosie O’Donnell.

Law enforcement confirmed to TMZ that Michelle Rounds was rushed by ambulance to a Nyack, New York hospital, at 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

It seems Rounds was despondent after losing custody of the two-year-old daughter she and Rosie O’Donnell adopted.

Another report says Michelle Rounds was hospitalized due to a “bad reaction to medication.”

Rosie O’Donnell and Michelle Rounds were married back in June of 2012. They split in November of 2014.

Entertainment Tonight has reached out to Rosie O’Donnell for comment, but hasn’t yet received a reply from her or a rep.

Do you think Michelle Rounds tried to take her life? If so, kudos to Rosie O’Donnell for her efforts in saving it. Even though their marriage didn’t work out, surely Rosie wouldn’t want to see the worst happen to Michelle–for her sake and for the sake of all the children involved.

Rosie O’Donnell has other children she adopted solo and/or with former ex-wife Kelli Carpenter.
