Rosie O’Donnell officially filed for divorce from her wife, Michelle Rounds, on Friday in Manhattan State Supreme Court.

Rosie O’Donnell reportedly cited “an irretrievably broken relationship” as the reason for the short marriage’s demise.

Michelle and Rosie O’Donnell wed in June of 2012 at their home in Nyack, New York.

During their short relationship, the two of them adopted a baby daughter named Dakota.

Rosie O’Donnell and Michelle Rounds have shared custody of Dakota since their November 2014 seperation.

Rosie O’Donnell also has four older children which she shares custody of with her former partner, Kelli Carpenter.

Earlier this month, Rosie O’Donnell shocked fans of her show, The View, when she abruptly announced that she was leaving.

Rosie O’Donnell‘s rep, Cindi Berger, said of her sudden departure, “She’s focused on her kids now. This is the right thing for her to do. The stress of a daily live talk show is a lot, and the separation is a lot, and you reach a certain point where you have to put health and family first. And she has.”

She continued, “She had a wake up call in 2012, a near fatal heart attack, and her doctors told her, ‘You have to take care of yourself, you have five children.’ Reliving her heart attack as she went through the editing process of her [HBO] heart documentary was sobering for her.”

A View insider said, after the announcement that Rosie was leaving the show, that Rosie O’Donnell is no rookie when it comes to dealing with situations like her divorce from Michelle Rounds.

The insider said, “She’s weathered a break-up with kids before and knows the attention her family needs following something like this, and there’s just no way she’d continue to stick with a dysfunctional and unhealthy work situation in the face of what she needs to deal with at home. It’s not worth it.”

Well, now that Rosie O’Donnell has cut herself off from a stressful talk show, and now a stressful marriage, perhaps she has eliminated enough factors to be able to care for herself adequately.
