Robin Wright and Ben Foster have reportedly called off their engagement. Us Weekly reports that Wright was the one who broke the 10-month long engagement.

“She got swept up in the engagement last Christmas, but then their schedules got crazy and she realized it wasn’t the right decision,” a source told them of why the House of Cards actress called it quits with her man.

The source continued, explaining that this summer proved to be the breaking point for the actress, who was juggling working on the Netflix hit in Baltimore and then spending weekends in Los Angeles with her and ex-husband Sean Penn’s kids Dylan, 23, and Hopper Jack, 21. Foster was busy in London, working on a production of A Streetcar Named Desire.

On top of that, there was a 14-year age gap between Robin Wright and Ben Foster.

“The gap just ended up being too much,” a source close to Wright told the New York Post. “Ben was kind of immature. She couldn’t deal with him anymore.”

In addition to House of Cards, Robin Wright is known for her roles in films like The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and Message in a Bottle. She played the role of Jenny in Forrest Gump.

Had Robin Wright married Ben Foster, it would have been her third time to the altar. In addition to her marriage to Sean Penn, she was also married to Dane Cook.

It will be interesting to learn in the coming months if there might be someone new in Robin Wright’s life.
