  • Robert Downey Jr. recently threw an extravagant party for his wife’s 40th birthday, and celebrated with a rather unusual birthday cake. Sure, some love vanilla cakes while others prefer chocolate or carrot cakes; however, how many ask for bacon cakes? According to Us magazine Susan Downey was treated to a cake that included: “maple bacon, chocolate bacon, bacon bits, bacon jam, and vanilla cake.”

The couple, who have been married for eight years, celebrated the special event during an entire weekend, and even invited others to joins in the celebrations for a party on Saturday, November 9th. The festivities were attended by many of the famous couple’s friends. Gwen Stefani, Gavin Rossdale, Justin Theroux, Jason Bateman, Reese Witherspoon, Joel Silver, Jon Favreau, Maya Rudolph, and Robert’s fellow Iron Man costar, Gwyneth Paltrow.

A birthday video was made for Susan where each of the guests had the opportunity to give a personal message to the birthday girl. An insider shared with Us, “Gwyneth Paltrow talked on camera and was laughing and animated as she recorded her message.” Sounds like everyone had a fun time.

This has been quite the year for the talented Iron Man who has topped many lists in 2013 such as Forbes list of the highest paid actors.

Using his good fortunes to celebrate the monumental birthday of his beautiful wife will make fans love the popular star even more. The actor is up for additional awards before the year is over, and many fans have been sharing these competitions on Twitter.
