Now that’s more like it. Renee Zellweger has been M.I.A. since her red carpet appearance at the 2013 Academy Awards ceremony, where the Jerry Maguire actress was chided for looking unnatural. It seemed like the plastic surgery/botox bug that hits many Hollywood actresses once they reach a certain age, hit Zellweger especially hard.

But now she’s back and looking brilliant. After months of avoiding Hollywood events, including this year’s Oscar ceremony, Zellweger made an appearance at the Painted Turtle Presents A Starry Evening of Music, Comedy & Surprises in San Francisco. The Painted Turtle is a year-around camp for children with life-threatening and chronic illnesses.

Commentators are once again abuzz, as the Bridget Jones Diary star has people talking about her looks, this time in an extremely positive delighted way. The 44-year-old actress wore a slim fitting black dress to the event with her hair pulled casually up. She also had on very little makeup. Her face looked clean, natural and beautiful.

The Academy Award Winner (she won for best supporting actress for her role as Ruby in the film Cold Mountain) has not appeared in movie in about four years. Her last film My Own Love Song with Forest Whitaker in 2010 did not perform well at the box office. It’s hard to believe that Zellwegger was actually one of Hollywood’s highest paid actresses just a few years back due to her acclaimed roles in Chicago and the Bridget Jones movies.

It now looks like we could see a Zellweger comeback. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the actress has signed on to co-star with Daniel Craig in the upcoming courtroom thriller The Whole Truth. The details of the plot have not yet been released.
