  • When Renee Zellweger revealed a new look, rumors began spreading that suggested she may have had plastic surgery. Renee defended her new look and said that her looks had just changed with age, but not everyone believed her.

Over the last few weeks, Renee has been criticized harshly for her looks, and Reese Witherspoon has decided that she has had enough of it.

She recently spoke out about Renee’s looks and the harsh criticism she has been receiving.

“It’s horrible. It’s cruel and rude and disrespectful, and I can go on and on and on. It bothers me immensely,” Witherspoon told The Hollywood Reporter during the magazine’s annual actress roundtable discussion.

“I know this is so Pollyanna of me, but why – and it’s particularly women – why do they have to tear women down? And why do we have to tear other women down to build another woman up? It drives me crazy,” she continued. “Like, this one looks great without her makeup but that one doesn’t look good without her makeup, and it’s all just a judgment and assault that I don’t – look, men are prey to it as well. I just don’t think it’s with the same sort of ferocity.”

Witherspoon has always been outspoken and confident, as apparent in her recent film Wild. In the film, Witherspoon has a sex scene with two men, something she admitted to being nervous about at first.

“It was weird,” she told Access Hollywood . “I had to make a choice as an artist…I think it’s most important how brave the writer was when she wrote the book and I had to be just as brave as an actor to do the parts of the book that were uncomfortable to me. That was hard sometimes.”

Wild will hit theaters next month.
