RealPages Nets High Search Volume For July

    August 26, 2005

Proving that local search is indeed taking off (quite exponentially I might add),, the Bell South Yellow Pages search engine issued a report of searches done during last month (July 2005).

In their press release, indicates they experienced a search volume that exceeds 20 million queries. Numbers like these prove that local search is growing out of the fad stage and into the legitimate search presence realm. This news was also well received by the RealPage advertisers, obviously. It was also reported experienced an 18 percent growth in searches for local advertisers.

Ike Harris, President of BellSouth Advertising & Publishing, offered these thoughts on RealPages impressive growth rate:

We have seen a consistent rise in the number of searches to over the past year. We have worked hard to create an Internet Yellow Pages network that is a tremendous resource for consumers, and an effective location for our advertisers and business customers to reach buyers.

The press release acknowledges a recent report from the Kelsey Group, which estimated local search annual growth will continue to the rate of 24 percent through 2009.
