The annual Razzie Awards--which are announced right around Oscar time--are sure to upset some fans of Edward and Bella this year, as "Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2" topped the list with a resounding 11 nominations.
Despite multiple good reviews from both critics and fans, the last installment in the vamp series earned Razzie noms for Worst Director, Worst Picture, and 2 nominations for Worst Couple, aimed at Robert Pattinson/Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner/Mackenzie Foy. For those who decide what film gets what nomination at the Razzies, this particular movie has been long-awaited, much like "Lord Of The Rings" was for the Academy Awards.
"That's the analogy we're making, that this is the Razzies' flipside," said Razzies founder John Wilson. "This is our equivalent to 'The Lord of the Rings.' It's our members' last chance to razz 'Twilight.'"
Adam Sandler was last year's favorite for the ceremony, winning a record ten awards for the universally lambasted "Jack And Jill", and this year he came close with eight nominations for "That's My Boy".
The winners will be announced on February 23rd, one night before the Oscars.
