Prince Harry issued a statement via Kensington Palace, about the birth of the new royal baby--his niece. Kate Middleton and Prince Harry's brother, Prince William, welcomed a princess into their family on Saturday, weighing in at eight pounds, three ounces.
Prince Harry, who has obviously seen photos of the new princess, called his niece "absolutely beautiful."
Currently serving with the Australian Defense Force in Australia, the prince--who is 30--won't be home to meet his niece until sometime near the end of May.
Prince Harry was spotted taking part in an Australian game of football at about the same time word broke about the royal baby's birth.

Even though the newest princess hasn't met her prince of an uncle, she has met other members of her family this weekend. On Sunday, she--along with Kate Middleton and Prince William--were visited by Pippa Middleton, Carole and Michael Middleton, Prince Charles, and Camilla Parker Bowles. It's uncertain whether or not Queen Elizabeth has yet met the royal baby.

Do you think once Prince Harry returns from Australia that his first stop will be an in-person meeting with his niece? Or will he--far truer to Harry form--visit the London ladies and hit up a few pubs first?
