Powerball Jackpot Winner Proves 13 Isn’t Always Unlucky

Someone in Iowa won the $202.1 million jackpot in Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing. Interestingly, the first three numbers of the winning combination were multiples of 13, traditionally considered an unlucky number. I guess that’s not the case anymore.

The winning ticket was sold at Casey’s General Store in Bondurant, Iowa. The numbers were: 13, 26, 39, 41, 42, Powerball: 10.

There was a $2 million prize winner in New York, and $1 million prize winners in Georgia, Iowa, New York, Pennsylvania and Washington.

The jackpot is back down to $40 million, and the next drawing will take place on Saturday night. Here’s a sampling of what people are saying on Twitter:

I think the lottery is rigged to hit in far out rural areas so minorities have less of a chance of winning. Very few areas with large miniority populations hit large jackpots even though they have high volume lottery sales in minority areas

I need a farm with water, rich soil, and lots of land to expand. I want to raise live stock, plant veggie, fruit and flowers. I’ll move to Iowa if this can be a reality.
