Philip Seymour Hoffman Mourned by Hollywood

Hollywood was devastated today when Philip Seymour Hoffman, 46, was found dead in his Manhattan apartment from a heroin overdose. The Oscar-wining actor was beloved for his intense character portrayals in dramatic films such as “Capote,” “Doubt,” and “The Master.”

Immediately following the tragic news, many of Hollywood’s best shared their grievances on Twitter, offering their condolences and acknowledging Hoffman’s skilled performances. The overwhelming outpouring from Hollywood is a clear indicator that Hoffman was one of the most admired actors of our generation, and will be remembered for his performances for years to come.

Although Hoffman’s death is being reported as a drug overdose, New York City Medical Examiners are still determing the exact cause of death. He was found after a 911 call his morning at 11:30am.
