Patrick Ewing, NBA legend and "Space Jam" co-star, is all set to be interviewed by the Charlotte Bobcats for the head coach position. This news comes shortly after it was announced that current coach Paul Silas would not return next year. Ewing will meet up with Charlotte officials as soon as Orlando is eliminated from the playoffs. Ewing, as you may know, is the assistant coach for the Magic.
Ewing has a history of mentoring large young men; he performed the same task for the Magic as well as Washington Wizards. It's rumored that he will do the same thing for Anthony Davis should the Bobcats snap him up during the NBA draft. Ewing will have his work cut out for him, as the Bobcats managed to obtain the lowest winning percentage in league history. That isn't the sort of honor people tend to brag about, so I'm sure Charlotte is hoping that Ewing and Davis could turn the program around.
Are you excited that Ewing may coach the Bobcats? Is this one of the worst decisions to NBA star has ever made? Let us know in the comments section. For your viewing pleasure, have a look at what some people are saying about the news on Twitter.
Patrick Ewing seems to finally be abandoning his dream to be the head coach an NBA team and will instead interview with the Bobcats.
