Online want-ad volume dipped in November as the number of new online job ads dropped by 187,400 postings, according to The Conference Board.

The number of new online want-ads dropped below 2 million for the first time since July. That number reflects a 9% drop from October, a month that saw only a 1.7% decrease in postings.

In November, there were 1.21 online job ads per 100 persons in the US labor force, down from 1.43 per 100 in August.

Help-wanted advertising volume is one of the key indicators of labor market conditions, providing a gauge of change in the local, regional and national supply of jobs.
