Here I am writing about the Search Engine Strategies conference in NYC and I’m in an airport in Minneapolis – go figure. Even though I’m not at the event physically, I’m certainly there in spirit. Here are the sessions during day one that I would be attending:

SES NY The 9-10:30am session is a tough one for me between Video Search Optimization and In House: Big SEO. Both are hot for our SEO firm right now as our PR agency expands its multi media and social media offerings with video and as TopRank continues to add very large companies as SEO clients. Bill Hunt and Marshall Simmonds always put out some great information and I would love to ask National Geographic as well as HP a few questions about their programs.

The 11-12:30 session is even tougher. Search Term and Keyword Research, Podcast and Audio Search Optimization, Ads in a Quality Score World, In House: Big PPC and Advertising in Social Media. This kind of schedule is why you need to bring at least 3-4 team members to SES conferences, so you can capture multiple tracks at the same time. It’s a good thing Barry and his team are covering the conference!

Google’s Webmaster Central is hosting a lunch which is a great opportunity to learn more about G sitemaps and enhancements.

The afternoon is less relentless but offers a nice mix from Search Engine Friendly Design to Mobile Optimization to Building an In-House SEM Team during the 2-3:30 session.

The last session of the day would likely find me at the Advanced Paid Search Strategies or The Infinite Promise of Search Advertising where I could ask Matt McGowan a few fun, end of the day, kinds of questions. :)

What to do after that? Joe Morin, Mr SES party central, has harvested a schedule of after conference festivities over at the Search Engine Watch forums. By this time I’ll be checking in at the Hilton and catching up on all that I missed while playing “catch a plane” all day. However, I’ll be back on track starting Wednesday.

If you’re at SES NYC today, I am sure Online Marketing Blog readers would appreciate reading what you thought was the most interesting session of the day or about any nuggets of insight you picked up.
