Although Google has most of
Although Google has most of the market currently, they are no longer the leader with new ideas. They are following and trailing Bing. Bing had the moon on their site at the right time. If you like the changes you see in Google you should thank Bing for those.
Though it's a day late
Though it's a day late you've got to admire the creativity behind it. I didn't actually notice how the craters spell the letters at first. I love the Google logos.
Better Late than not at all
I like it! It captures the essence of the landing an keeps true to the intent of special day Google logos, even if they were caught off gard on the timing I think it is a great logo effort.
yeah i noticed this. my
yeah i noticed this. my google still isnt' showing maybe this is something weird wiht google canada.
but i was shocked.
inoticed the youtube one and thought i'd check out what googles was.

It went live the same time
It went live the same time as the original apollo landing.
I'm not sure about that.
I'm not sure about that. Apollo 11 landed on the moon at 4:18 PM EDT (20:18 UTC). Wasn't the logo up before that?
Google couldn't get past the
Google couldn't get past the Van Allen belts.
You all doubted Google?
Google never fails. Check out Google Maps.
Adding a little astronaut to
Adding a little astronaut to the maps section isn't enough of a tribute for the moon landing.
They needed the full blown Google logo.
Also Google Moon
They also launched the Moon Add-On to Google Earth today. Oh, and check out the logo now.
Yeah, I just updated the
Yeah, I just updated the article with the new logo.
I guess Google heard our collective complaints.

Timing
Maybe Google planned the logo release for the exact time that Apollo 11 landed. That was 1:17 p.m. , Pacific Time.
I thought about that. Wonder
I thought about that.
Wonder if this is what actually happened though?

Google updates their logo
Google updates their logo for some of the most ridiculous events known to man, but not the moon landing. Someone has some 'splaining to do.
Google owns Youtube - why do
Google owns Youtube - why do they have a logo and Google has nothing?
Doubt
I think that Google has some doubt about landing on the moon before 40 years ago. Did it happen?
I would certainly hope that
I would certainly hope that Google has no doubts about landing on the Moon.
The whole argument about the Moon landing being staged in Arizona is quite idiotic in my opinion.

Ridiculous
It seems that the Google people think that Tetris is more important than the event of man setting foot on another world. Simply ridiculous!
Google seriously
Google seriously dissappointed me today with their failure to honor such an historic event.
Seeing how Bing has chosen to honor the Moon Landing, I'll think I'll use their search for the rest of the day out of protest.
#GoogleFail
#GoogleFail indeed.
#GoogleFail indeed.
Google really missed the
Google really missed the boat, like you said they honor events such as the anniversary of Tetris - but not the Moon Landing?
Is the logo designer on vacation?
Strange
Its a bit strange. Usually Google has a custom logo for almost every special days or occasions. I wonder what exactly happened.
