I have seen no affect on video games while recession. gamers may be looking to stretch their entertainment dollar further through playing games they own more.

Gaming is becoming more social

Since online games became the big thing gaming has become much more social. But still lacked real social interactions.

Games like Guitar Hero are making gaming much more social. Plus the Wii is definitely more social.

This is a good thing because it makes the whole world of gaming much healthier. Combine the combination of the fitness aspect of the Wii and the psycological aspect of playing with friends makes the whole experience better for gamers. Both in enjoyment and the health benefits.

Social Gaming

It makes a lot of sense that the social games are pushing the averages up. People can ultimately save money by getting together for Rock Band nights at a friend's house instead of going out to bars or other events.
