So many search engine alternatives now
It's amazing how many search engines have been introduced in the last few months (and even the last week). I think I'm now up to
six new ones. More at http://domusinc.blogspot.com/2009/06/facebook-twitter-collecta-crowdeye.html.
Not like other search engines
They sure aren't. Personally I dont think they will ever be top of the pile - no competition here for Google or anyone else for the simple fact that they dont support IE6, which a lot of their prospective customers still use. Dumbasses if you ask me.
Topic Homepage competitor
It seems that this real-time search is getting a lot of attention from startups.
Another topic search service launched I believe in the same day as collecta:

I'm digging Collecta. Really
I'm digging Collecta. Really good place to see trends from all angles.

It's searching fine for me
It's searching fine for me at the moment... it was giving me problems earlier.
You can follow Collecta at http://twitter.com/collectadotcom to stay up on downtime issues.
Hope this helps.
