Report: Bing Replaces Yahoo as Number 2

But Will it Stay That Way?

BING has a ways to go

Forget all the emotion attached to your favorite search engine. Most of that has been manipuilated by marketing dollars, so why can't Bing be a Google killer?
Microsoft has the reach, the budget and the manpower to make it work, as long as they don't stumble along the way as they usually do.
Creating Bing instead of buying Yahoo shows that they finally have some vision and looks like they may have made a strategic move that COULD dent Google's dominance in search. Only time will tell, but Microsoft has done well with the launch.

Bing vs Yahoo

OK, so I went gaga over Wolfram Alpha a few weeks ago and I haven't gone back since. But this time I REALLY think that Bing will catch on! It's a fun, clean, easy-to-use GUI with great image and video search.

Microsoft did a very good

Microsoft did a very good job with their new SE Bing than their previous crap Live Search. I like the way they organize the results. It is very good as a user. Their video and image search is simply awesome.

Let's see how users stick with this Microsoft new born baby after their 80 or so million campaign finishes. I'm positive about Bing dominating a certain percent market share but bing ain't a google killer. They have to do a lot more than organizing. Let's see how it goes. Time will tell.

Looks like Bing going to

Looks like Bing going to give good competition to google, The only thing make me feel shakky for bing is thier crawlers, as they are slow and still showing old data from websites.

So much passion on this issue

Why is there so much emotion (positive and negative) when a news story focuses on Microsoft? Let's stick with the facts and how they might or might not impact us. In what ways is Bing better or worse than Google or Yahoo? How will (or should) Bing's introduction affect marketers? Here are my newest thoughts on Bing, Yahoo!, and Google.

Hmm...

The only way for Microsoft to catch up to Google is by teaming up with pantyless celebrities. I don't see no worm called Bing in my awstats.

yahoo is not in question

Yahoo will be surpassed, that is not in question. what people did say is google curses down exact match bing curses up. Is there anything interesting here. think so.

How does this affect paid search budgets?

The big question now is whether Microsoft will take a big chunk out of Yahoo's paid search revenue, as mentioned here: Does Microsoft Big Change Paid Search.
