Its' all about consumer demand
Things are changing so rapidly. Statistics never tell the whole story. The Susan Boyle 'event' over the last few weeks demonstrated something very important. People will watch online when there is something they can see that they cannot get on TV. My 14 year old watches a couple of shows on Hulu because we don't have Tivo and she cannot watch them during their normal air time. Plus she occasionally likes to go back and watch again. I discovered an old movie onlinemy dad has been wanting to see for 25 years. It wasn't at Blocbuster or NetFlix. I Emailed the YouTube link to him, and he watched it. He was ecstatic. He loves "The Rockford Files", which he cannot get it on any of his 100 cable channels. I found it for him online, now he watches an episode every few days. My mom keeps up on her favorite soap opera online, as she often misses episodes. Consumers want (no demand) to be able to watch the shows they want, in the order they want, when they want to see them. Tivo helps, but Tivo requires you to capture and store what you want. This is seriously flawed. The Internet will solve this problem.
Television will go way of newspapers
Just as cell phone landlines and newspapers are dying, the television as a living room fixture will soon be a memory. Netbooks and laptops with mobile wireless will replace the old boob tube -- quickly. TV, TIVO, HULU, TIVULU.
No way is TV going away
Understand and know that TV and its stars has been and will always be part of Pop Culture. Imagine our television and silver screen stars becoming netbook stars, thats a ridiculous notion. The fact is that TV and movies have always been social activities. Imagine having a Superbowl party with 20 friends while watching the game on your 10" netbook. You're out of your mind!
It's all about ease of use.
It's all about ease of use. Lying in bed watching a laptop is just as comfortable as watching TV, but I don't think most people do this. Eventually, this will change.
TV
television remains still unbeatable in the world
the interesting fact is that it attracts child and senior citizens
No doubt about it,
No doubt about it, television rules the game because people still find time to sit in front of their tv. Video sites online are just alternatives for busy people. Well for some office workers watching videos online eats up their office hour!
