For those who are wondering
For those who are wondering about FB connect, it made a huge difference when I was going to a specific Las Vegas Concert, I found out a lot of my mutual friends were also going to the same concert!
Lollapalooza
Why not inject concert buzz into social media. Festival and concert attendance seems to be down in recent years.
Social connectivity
It is exciting to read that C3 has enabled social features to connect to the social networks and extend the reach of its web properties. In the emerging social web, this type of connectivity is increasingly becoming a necessity on content-provider and member-based sites.
JanRain has a universal login platform solution called RPX (http://rpxnow.com) that allows websites to accept logins from Facebook, MySpace, Google, Yahoo, AOL, Windows Live and Twitter. RPX contains much of the functionality of FB Connect (allowing users to post activity back to their stream), and RPX puts the user in control by allowing them to sign-in to sites with their most trusted or favored provider.
Interscope Geffen A&M (a division of Universal Music Group) uses RPX across about 150 music artist websites (including www.weezer.com & www.snoopdogg.com), to accelerate the registration process, increase conversion rates from site visitors to reg. users, and reduce end user frustrations related to password fatigue.
