The Ins And Outs Of Tweeting

A Twitter How-To Guide

Twitter Sounds Great Now

I very proudly announce here that this post of yours have changed my mind about twitter and finally I realize how useful twitter can be.
Great article Jason!

I like it

I think its worth using as a supplement to a full scale blog, after all it takes a minute to update.

How to Tweet Your Way Out of a Job

Reminds me of the guy who Facebooked along the lines of "Can't be arsed going into work today! Chucking a sickie! Woohoo! Day off!", entirely forgetting he'd made FB friends with boss. Classic.

Stay Home and Use Twitter Tools to Network a Conference

I figured out how to network a major education conference (ASCD 09) remotely with Twitter tools / a live WordCloud.

See how it's working and how to:

Twitter - Look for jobs

I like to use Twitter as a new tool to find jobs these days. With Twitter growing so fast everyday, it is possible to use Twitter for all sorts of marketing and promoting.

Twitter suggestion

I wish that Twitter would at least make the message capability the same as cell phone text messages. Most phones let you text up to 160 characters per text message.

Tweet Entertainment

Twitter is great for communicating ideas. An upcoming theme for twitter is playing games with tweets. Word games and scavenger hunts tweet clues. You can create stories using tweets. All in the name of entertainment. Check out www.OUTWIT.me for such games.

Twitter

Nice post. A lot of reports about scams on twitter popping up here and there as well. Twitter like an other networking tool just has to be used with some caution

It's odd..

..to think that such a minute thing as twitter is having such an effect on the internet.

However, I think it just a natural development of how news stories have become shorterand more compact. A full news story today is 40 seconds, and max a couple of minutes.

So if the broadcasters believe our attention spans have shortened, then why not shorten them even more with Twitter, seems to be the question behind the development of that service. It takes about 10 seconds to read and digest, and then on to the next tweet.

There is no time to rest, relax or contemplate - just consume more news. Well, even though I am a business man, I am not going to start twitting - but good luck to you that do :-)

Lessons Here

Interesting post about Twitter and some real lessons here.

Twitter

Hello all,

Most people thinking of using Twitter is thinking just like everyone else.. Most are still doing things for instant gratification. People are REALLY underestimating the power of Twitter and Facebook. Pay attention if you really think Twitter is so worthless, then why is Facebook(#1 social platform right now) getting more and more like Twitter..?? Microblogging is where it's at. You might think people care what others are doing throughout the day, but when you have built relationships and are teaching others value, you will find those who want to know what others like them might be doing outside of their business life, get more down to earth and personal, you know so you CAN Relate to your potential customers and "followers"

I have some awesome FREE Twitter tools for everyone just direct message me at Twitter (changa74). I will get them to you A.S.A.P.

Twellow

Hi, If blogging was my equivalent to 'granny goes sky-diving' (a newspaper headline a year or two ago) then Twitter must be my moon launch. I've been at it (blogging) for nearly a year, and began tweeting a month or two ago.

To begin with I didn't 'get it' either. But I soon realised that, as an author, it was a brilliant way to promote my website and hence my blogs and books. But like everything in life, it comes down to how much you value people and relationships. And let's face it, you can't relate in any two dimensional way with a few thousand people. But you can, I believe, relate to a couple of dozen - and in doing so come across to the few thousand as a real person who cares about others and puts them above selling a few books.

Yesterday I came across Twellow and immediately realised its potential. I've begun following others in my niche and hope to continue to build up followers in this way.

Excellent, the way a twitter

Excellent, the way a twitter can be used by webmasters are endless, now it is going up by giving more usages whether it is for good or for bad

Twits

Seriously, I still don't get Twitter and the vanity/arrogance in thinking someone cares what you had for breakfast and what you're doing at 2:30 on a Friday. In our experience, Twitter is like Facebook; lots of users, no buyers. If Twitter logs are "tweets" Twitter users are "Twits?" Only proves that with enough funding you can sell ketchup popsicles to women in white gloves.

My favorite part

I liked the jury duty paragraph. It made me snort water and laugh out loud. Thanks for that.

All This Twittering!

After reading all this stuff, there might be hope for me yet -like getting my book 'When the Chips are Down' published and promoted for - FREE!

Now that's something I could get into!!!!!

Great place!

I'm typically on Twitter to socially market my safety and security web site but it's a great place for lots of things. Thanks, Jason, for this great article.

$35m funding

$35million? what a huge amount, no wonder you're really tweeting guys.

twitter

its very effective to tweet keep it up guys.

What's the point?!

I think this the point.
The geniuses behind Twitter must have got the name from, what they think we are: a bunch of NITWITS
Maybe we'll come up with something useful for it.

TwitterHawk

Hell yeh! Twitter spam increase by 50 million folds thanks to Twitterhawk if it takes off. Then you can say good bye to Twitter as a whole.

Oh yea, Micheal Gray has

Oh yea, Micheal Gray has done it again.

He is the one that designed twitterhawk right?

tweeting on twitter

I have been using twitter for about 1 month and it has made no difference to the amount of people who visit or dont visit my website. I really cannot understand the point of it, or maybe I have set it up all wrong! I thought the idea would be that when you write about something or let people know about your busiiness etc it would be posted and then loads of people would read it and if your lucky then they would click on your website link, but this has not worked for my business, I guess people just are not interested in fair trade or green issues! I have witten numerous blogs and that makes no diffference either, I guess I must be barking up the wrong tree or just plain barking mad for wasting precious time on a lot of nonsense.

Push Buttons!

Dear Rebbeca, perhaps if you try pushing a few 'FOLLOW' buttons, and send a welcome or thank you message to those who follow you and those who accept your invite, it may make a difference.

So send me an invite and I certainally have a look at what you've got.

My Twitter name is - Aussie_Mossie.

Pass a Smile as You Pass By.--from 'When the Chips are Down'.

Yeah, it works for business!

Jason,
