Traffic
As an author I feel it important to be part of the Twitter community. I'm not sure how to handle it yet, but this series is a damn good starting point. I've already managed to drive a small amount of traffic to online articles, blog posts and my web, so something is working.
I look to the future and hope to grow as Twitter grows. It certainly has potential to reach out to like-minded people, if not an actual readership - but I suppose one can come from the other.
WHY AM I NOT GETTING THIS???
Blogs I've done are boosting my Google, Yahoo, and Bing ratings and getting traffic to my web site, but I'm not getting how Twitter can do this. If you do a search with any of the search engines above for Antipolo massage spa, you will see that my classified postings and blogs pretty much dominate the first few pages of the search engines, but, again, I don't see how Twitter can do this. Can somebody explain this to me?

I am still puzzled how Twitter would monetize its website. If I were an investor, I won't put my money on Twitter until I see its business plan. They can't just keep on doing this. Servers are expensive.

Here's how I get traffic from Twitter
I've spent the last month experimenting with a way to send traffic to various sites via Twitter. It averages 3 visitors per 100 followers per tweet (significant variation depending on key word, topic, time of day and even day of week). I outline the basic approach in this blog entry. And cover the math and economic justification of the time involved here.
The key is the way you pick up followers. Visit my Twitter page, and you'll see I'm only following 2 people, but have 600 or so followers. This is deliberate on my part. I don't want machine followers (though I'm sure I have some). What I want is a 'better class of follower'. That is, people who will follow because of the content I post.
I'm using TweetLater to schedule a minimum of 29 posts per day (usually many more) - all to web content about online marketing, SEO and related topics. This is my market, and some of this content is mine.
What makes the approach work, of course, is the retweeting I get from much bigger players than me. Once I got TweetDeck up and running, I got to see just how significant this can be. I may be a minnow, but I've picked up some powerful followers that broadcast my tweets far and wide.

Good results from twitter
I got the same results from others.Twitter is becoming more efficient in directing the traffic.I'm also getting decent traffic though i started it recently.The posts here are very useful for the beginners like me.This will have a huge impact on other sites also.the face book application which allows to post to twitter from is my favorite.
It's Noisy
In all honesty, I'm still trying to handle all the "noise" from Twitter without losing my sanity. It's no doubt a great tool but I guess I can live without it for now.

I didn't see the point of Twitter until I joined to give it a try. Now I use it on almost daily basis to post news and build followes which may in turn become customers one day. I have already seen some traffic from it.
