Google Ocean May Be Ready At Last

Schmidt, Mayer, Al Gore, and an oceanographer to assemble

Sounds interesting

This is some interesting and hopefully very promising news... at least it was sounding interesting until I read that Al Gore is scheduled to speak there. Not sure how anybody can believe what comes from him anymore. :|

I hope they find the lost

I hope they find the lost city or at least a few sunken ships, that would be interesting to see...

Great News

This is a fantastic development. While I'm not likely to go diving in the middle of the Atlantic this is very interesting. More importantly if it's the ocean today... what tomorrow. The applications are limitless.

Surface or floor

it'd be much more fun for the google earth community to have satellite images of the ocean surface, with the possibility of seeing boats and sharks and whales and stuff, than just a scan of the ocean floor, with all its lumps and bumps.

The best free people search

The best free people search engine on the web. People search is in gigantic demand right now (30% of all searches on Google & Yahoo are people search related, and that number is growing) because in this day and age we're trying to protect ourselves and our children as much as we can from predators and other nefarious people--and as employers, it is now possible to use the Internet to weed out prospective employees who will not be good for your company.

Interesting I did not know

Interesting I did not know Google was looking into releasing a Google Map of the Ocean floor - how in the world are they going to do that?

Interesting news

What great news, It seems something important is coming. I hope in some way the aid for the planets environment is on the agenda.

Gore

Al Gore, the big fat bore going to speak. That's enought o put any thinking individual off going. Do we need to hear more of this Bilderberger's bogus science?

Ignorance on the topic Saving the Planet Earth

YOU'RE AN IDIOT

You too.

*sigh* what a mature response.

A response

No, you are the idiot for falling for Gore's rubbish. It's all about control. But alas, the right-on Left, needing some trendy-right-on cause have fallen for this cobblers. If you believe his crap, I suggest you start telling Gore to stop travelling around the world on airplanes while he peddles his crap.

What's so good about being able to see the ocian?

I think it's fantastic, it seems Google cares about the environment. So do I. What I don't understand is what will be so good about the 3d ocean?

awareness

Maybe if you start with understanding how to spell ocean correctly, you just might understand what "awareness and education" can do for a number of issues.

NOAA

hmm, NOAA always takes all the credit (well they do fund us)...while I help set up many servers on our ships for Ocean mapping for many years...
kudus google...but give us some credit sometime will ya, those artic runs where a bit cold.
