Saturday Night Live
Watching it again a few days after Hussein's execution, I particularly enjoyed his lawyers explaining that yes, they were really going to hang him. That they were explaining this specifically to Alec Baldwin, the greatest actor of them all, was particularly gratifying.
And I especially liked Aunt Linda. That's one twisted Auntie.
Viacom vs. Google/YouTube
Good article, Jason. I agree. I've just during the past few days of this holiday weekend been learning about the Viacom vs. Google/YouTube legal battle.
Almost a week ago, a Yahoo! News story provided the link to Interscope to watch Leslie Feist sing Please Be Patient on the Comedy Central Stephen Colbert show. I liked the video so I sent the link to friends and posted it at my blog and Yahoo! Group.
Then the Flash player at Interscope broke down for a while. That caused me to look for the video Feist - Please Be Patient at YouTube. I found the complete skit. Soon after that, Viacom forced YouTube to remove it for Copyright infringement.
It angered me so much I sent a letter of protest to Viacom and a copy to YouTube, still not yet knowing about the huge lawsuit. If it were not for Yahoo! News, Interscope, and YouTube, I would never have known about the funny skit video. What was at YouTube was like a free ad for Comedy Central and Stephen Colbert, gaining me as a new viewer, and a free ad for Leslie Feist for me to buy more of her music.
What has Viacom done to attract me as a consumer? Nothing. It is my professional opinion as a published science fiction novel author that there has been no Copyright violation. Maybe YouTube should charge Viacom for the ad?!
I finally had more time this holiday weekend to do research online, and learned about the history of the lawsuit Viacom vs. Google/YouTube.
What a bunch of evil greedy trolls! They should be thanking YouTube, not suing them!

whaaat?
I normally don't comment on these things, but to say that SNL is lacking iconic greats like Steve Martin and Chevy Chase is crazy. What about Kirsten Wiig? Bill Hadar? These people are hilarious! I still watch SNL religiously and it has nothing to do w/ YouTube.
Jason Lee Miller- You know
Jason Lee Miller-
You know so little about business and technology. YouTube would cease to exist....it would have been a memory without "Lazy Sunday". Its mistakes like this that keep you from being editor of something people read.
