It's so darn nasty that blackhatters are now vergin on the most illegal of activities, and when doing this are causing use white hatters to suffer. We can only do so much to make money online, and SEO is a key element.

yes, just keep building that content and hope people find you. I found a really nice Realtors site once. I checked his counter.. and I was the first visitor in 6 months. It all depends on if someone else is writing yoru paycheck or you are writing it yourself.

I agree with that, because my site may be ranking no 1 for the keyword "Matrimony Matchmaking services" but I know that this keyword is not converting to sale. It is better to be ranked no 12 "Online Matrimonial" for a keyword like because this keyword is more likely to convert to a sale.

Good to see flash being better understood by google as im planning on using more of it. It can be good for users so google needs tocatch up here.

backlinks will never die. Is there any alternative to backlinks? I shall welcome these changes, if they improve the search quality and provide the exact results searchers are looking for.

Too much emphasis on black hat seo. Why would anyone want to use black hat? Its google Number one target.
universal search
imho Google appears to be moving farther away from it's original ideals of giving the searcher quick simple results.
The implementation of local search across all listings isn't working that well without specific local searches or having the google cookie switched on and searchers are being presented with ever more complicated listings with adwords, local business listings, related searches, one line site links etc.
To me Google are moving away from what made such a good search engine in the first place.

I'm sometimes about to cry because of SEO.. it's the blackhatters that seem to get everything right.. we unfortunately are left to see can we battle our way through it all, I see sites everyday with wierd looking backlinks but have no idea how to compete wit those links unfortunately.. Im only trying to make a libing not a boat load, yet the blackhatters just want it all.
Backlinks are more impotant thing
Gr8 post......I have a long term SEO customer that I have achieved excellent rankings for via white hat SEO. I have good backlinks in Google and my all keywords on top ranking.

In 2008 the last few months things was well with the traffic, now we are receiving no traffic since feb18 and i saw now penalties

I don't think that page rank is effective any longer, unless you plan on selling links. I've seen some links with low PR rank much better than High PR sites.
I think that this is a bit of a cop out by Cutts.

I think Google should start a forum or something like that can really help for webmasters . Recently they started a forum for adsense publishers . A similar forum for seo and other education would be great .

Keep adding content (it's King), and backlinks (their queen)
SEO is constantly changing yes. But I still think it's important to look at your rankings for search phrases that you would know would bring traffic (doing keyword research.)
What I do think though, is the best thing to do, is to add content to your site. Yes. Content is king, and the smart marketers know this. If you will keep adding new content to your site and keep building backlinks, your site is going to appear for lots and lots of search phrases the keyword-tools do not even indicate.

A subdomain can actually help your site SEO, usability and Adwords quality score.
Creating a subdomain and serving content from it can increase the speed of page uploads significantly due to HTTP 1.1 (current version) limitation of loading only 2 objects at a time from a single hostname.
If, for example, you loaded images from here:
http://www.yourdomain.com/images
you can only load 2 images at a time. If, however, you added a subdomain:
http://images.yourdomain.com/images
and loaded images from both places then you would be loading from 2 different hostnames thus doubling the number of static files to 4 that HTTP 1.1 will upload at a time.
Faster page loads mean that search engines will grab your content easier thus allowing your SEO optimized content to be indexed. If the page loads too slow then the user will just leave - a big usability problem.
Since the page loads faster, your Adwords quality score will improve because Google recently included page load times in their quality score algorithm.
