I am webmaster of superdiscountshop.com. Everything was fine before when i forwarded superdiscountshop.net to superdiscountshop.com from DNS control panel of onlinenic. After forwarding my website PR was dropped to unranked and all traffic was lost from google.

I have removed forwarding of superdiscountshop.net 6 months ago and still my site have 0 traffic from google even on "superdiscountshop" keyword.

Can someone help to find problem?

Inbound links are extremely important for SEO. I have been trying to get them and it's not easy without buildng a really kick butt website.

I have seen with my website that content still matters. Inbound links are an important factor, but you also need to focus on good content.

content is most important because even if you have many links and good pagerank, people not to visit your site again if you do not have a worthy content.
However, it is true what the people say in the comments, according to the type of page can be very difficult to get links except in directories

Who is going to link to a clothes line site? Mine is full of good content but has very few natural links to it. I rely on directories. Matt Cutts, ideology isnt perfect. Try and think about us and dont penalise directories so much.

Its always been that way, inbound links are most important and then comes content of the site, this has to be good too.

Since folks are asking for alot of advice on improving their natural ranking, let me share a little nugget of advice:

For all graphics and images used through your site, make the file names of all image files keyword related, and include ALT tags for all the images that include good descriptions of your page content.  You'll get a huge boost in Google's image search for sure.  And you'll be surprised as the traffic you can gain from it since most people aren't competing for image search ranking.

Also it appears english is a second language for alot of folks here.  I could see that has a hinderance in your SEO efforts since there are a lot of subtle nuances of the English language in terms of what English/American speakers type into searches.

May someone explain why yahoo throws hundreds of links more than google? In my sites www.aloe-spa.com and www.hoodialatina.com there are a big difference between both yahoo and google, with a difference ratio of 8 to 1 for yahoo.

I have an interesting situation. My wife and I own a nudist resort in Palm Springs, California.

Although the mainstream media has written a lot about our resort and we have been featured on TV many times, and we are one of the most popular resorts in Palm Springs, I have always found it very difficult to get sites such as travel sites, to link to us as they are "afraid" that conservative viewers will no longer visit their sites.

Getting links when you have a "controversial" business is easier said than done.

I totally agree that links are very important.

But where is the news?

We know it for a long time that quality links are the key.

I know how to get links and increase in google ranking, but how do you get more recognized links that when you type in link:www.YourSite.com are listed?
