I think this hotspot idea is a good thing that google has done for us video publishers. This type of stats allows us to see what is working and what is not. Therefore we are able to provide better content for the hungry users of youtube. Hotspots also give us a chance to see which countries are hot so we know or can try to market to those people in the way they want.
