Yahoo! Opens Up

...To Third Party Apps

don't like their search

don't like their search results either.  They never seem updated as fast as Google or Live.  Also, in the case of my own website, these jerks who basically copied me and slapped "online" at the end of my domain come up before me on a couple of queries.  Maybe they should figure out how they will handle their search engine before they go off in other directions.

 Did Allaah attend Open

 Did Allaah attend Open Hackday?

Good Idea for Yahoo, but will it work?

I looked at the video and it didn't say much about what they would be releasing but opening up their platform to developers is a good idea. Developers usually build the apps most web clients use and seeing Yahoo spread accross the internet might have people visit, but not stay. Yahoo has bad search results, and the Panama platform is elementary still. I wish Yahoo would have sold to Microsoft because togeither I think they could have competed. But that's me. I'll give Yahoo a fair chance and test out their open source alot more and give Google a break for a month.

RE: Good idea for Yahoo...

Yeah, the video was just a teaser for Open Hack. As far as getting people to stay on Yahoo, I think it will work better for keeping people who are already using Yahoo for search (many of which likely have it set as their homepage) from navigating away. I don't know that it will attract many non-Yahoo users.
