New Research Paradigm

Truly, the world of information access has shifted to the internet - a knowledge resource center that has become accessible to almost everybody. I foresee that future researches both quantitative and qualitative will be heavily relying on the internet. Even citation of sources will have to change. Now, sources of information cited in researches can now be immediately verified -  texts, graphics, audio and video. Say goodbye to the old ways.

Spearhead

This is a little disconcerting.  One of the things that I like about the net is that it encourages independent news.  This appears to be a move in the opposite direction.

Interesting Trends

These are definitely interesting trends with historical impact. One thing I do hope that makes it into the mix is a return to traditional print standards in web media, such as proofreading and quality control. With the immediacy of web communication, lots and lots of mistakes, typos and inaccurate information are making their way onto the screen. We all need to make sure we exercise the same basic principals of journalism and remember that just because it's not on a printed page it still needs to be correct.
