NFL And NBC Putting Games Online

One-year experiment

More interested in home games, but...

The way I see it, the NFL is at this point just trying to test the market, see whether people are interested in watching football games this way. I'm sure they expect viewership to be concentrated in the market areas where the most fans are interested in the game... by which I mean, for example, if the game were Chiefs vs Patriots, the viewers would concentrate around the general areas of Kansas City and Boston. I think this is a great way to test viewership across the whole market.

And I think that the future of local game offerings might hinge on the success of the new online features. Are people interested enough to view games that way?

My problem is that although I am interested enough, my Internet access speed, a wireless service, isn't fast enough. It can't handle such video streams... I have enough trouble with the basic video and audio MLB.tv broadcasts. There's no way my service could keep up with PIP or changing camera angles or other additional demands on bandwidth and processing speeds.

So unless some sudden breakthrough happens in video transmission technology or in the wireless service I use, I am not going to be viewing online.

YES i have lived in charleston south carolina for 2 years and all i want is to watch my Baltimore ravens play at my own home in which the complex will not allow me to have direct tv. So i have no way of watching them, who the hell cares about sunday night games their broadcast live all over the united states. What can i do to have the games online?

Who Cares

Big Deal put every game on-line then folks could watch their favorite team.  Who cares if you are going to put the Sunday Night game on-line.  If I watch it I would much rather watch on my Big screen TV  than my 14 inch lap top.

Waste of time and money.

RE:

Agreed. They should put more games that aren't nationally televised on at least. Monday Night Football would be ideal for some who don't have cable and/or ESPN. Sunday night games are pretty much the ones everybody can already see. I think the concept of streaming games is great though.
