hulu
in USA perhaps - its not available outside.
not enough content
Hulu has great potential but not enough new content to keep enough users comming back on a hyper regular basis. There are also many newer video sites piggybacking hulu videos with great marketing success because they also leverage content from other networks.
Youtube will always be great for younger viewers with short attention spans, but there are many others looking for alternatives to television and Hulu just doesn't cater to the couch potato crowd due to lack of content.
RE: not enough content
Hulu helped me stop watching network tv
A couple of months ago a co worker sent me an IM with a link to HULU. I looked at it for a brief moment before bookmarking it and looking at the website at home. Since then, I haven't looked back. I actually stopped watching TV believe it or not.
I have found tv shows I never knew existed such as Firefly and the Dresden Files (both were canceled first season) and love the fact I don't have to download anything and the videos are free to watch. They place adds in the middle of the shows which don't bother me for exchange of a full blown TV show.
The ads have gotten better over the last month. Instead of showing the same add for a TV show (Hulu has movies too) they are starting to mix it up a little, which is cool.
I didn't know you can embed videos from hulu to websites like youtube. I'm going to have to check it out.
